A Reading List for Consent and Communication

Library · Reading list

A method for choosing material thoughtfully rather than a list of borrowed claims.

Start with resources that identify their author, date, purpose, evidence, and limits. Compare perspectives rather than treating a single piece as an authority on every community, jurisdiction, or experience.

Questions for any resource

  • Who wrote it, and for whom?
  • What does it claim to cover—and exclude?
  • When was it reviewed?
  • Does it distinguish education from legal, medical, therapeutic, or emergency advice?
  • Does it protect the privacy of people described in examples?
